S. J. Christie & Sons of Royal Oak, Michigan, built this modernist home in 1954 for Max Leichtling. The long, low-pitched roof dominates the exterior. The brick chimney rises from near the center of the roof, and is detailed at the top with crenulations below the cap. This motif is repeated in the square wood detailing next to the front door, which faces north. There is a graceful, terraced brick entrance. The garage is attached, and also faces north.
